A 250 watt bulb is the maximum wattage the Air King AK917 fan and heater can take. It would not be safe to put in a bulb more than 250 watts. This wattage will be enough to heat a small bathroom.
The Air King AK917 can use one 250 watt maximum type R40 medium base infrared lamp.
The Air King AK917 fan and heat lamp can absolutely be wired separately.
