Exhaust Fan Control Switch with Simultaneous Delay Timer
Excellent switch, but not as good as it used to be
I bought a couple of these switches several years ago and they were perfect. The switches I just bought do not have a middle detent "off" position. I think that makes the product not quite as good as it was before. Now, if someone accidentally turns the switch to the on position or just wants the light/fan on for a moment, the fan will remain on for the entire timing cycle. Same is true if you have a power interruption -- the fan comes on for the entire timing cycle.

Poorly Designed Exhaust Fan Control Switch
While this switch performs the function it is designed for, it is poorly designed from an aesthetic and electrical installation standpoint. First, the toggle switch does not have the same look and feel as a regular residential toggle switch. The thin toggle and the sloppy on/off action make it look and feel cheep. From my standpoint, I want the switch to "fit in" and look and feel like just like the other light switches. Second, from an electrical installation standpoint, the location of the switch ground wire is unusable when a metal mud ring is being used. With the ground wire riveted to the switch yoke, it appears it would work fine if the switch is being installed in a residential plastic electrical box. But in the case where a metal electrical box is being used with a metal mud ring, the rivet for the ground wire hits the mud ring and you cannot correctly install the switch.

Product Doesn't Work
I called Air King, no help. Venting Direct got their attention, and after being passed around to 3 people one guy told me exactly how to wire in my situation.
The only problem is the product doesn't work. It works as an on-off switch, the timer doesn't work.
Venting Direct gets high marks for their assist!

Air King Fan timer
I was able to install this switch/timer myself in about 20 minutes. It fits into your electrical box where the old switch sits. The tools I used were a screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. Performs as advertised and I am happy with the unit.

These switches work very good. It allows us to help control the humidity in our house by running the vent fan for a set amount of time after showering without having to remember to shut it off.

installed easily, no ground wire though ??
works fine, was worried it would be loud after reading a review, they must have gotten a defective one, mine is very quiet, no noise at all.

This switch works well and looks good. I'm using it to control a bathroom fan/light combo and a shower light.

Was looking at two switches - one with a timer, but when I stumbled on this I had to buy it.
