The 5000 DX-S is part of AllerAir's series of air purifiers designed to remove the harmful toxins and odors associated with cigarette smoke. This unit's extra deep-bed of carbon provides even more aggressive filtration than our DS series, and is ideal for smoky environments. This unit (without UV) is ARB certified for California.

What differentiates the 5000 Series air cleaner from other units on the market is its advanced design, and especially the quality and quantity of its activated carbon. Activated carbon is the only safe, cost-effective way to trap noxious gases and odors. Activated carbon has been treated with oxygen to open up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms. The tiny pores provide an enormous surface area to trap chemicals, which are attracted to the activated carbon. Unlike the 5000 Series, many other air purifiers offer mere ounces of carbon, or carbon-treated filters that simply can’t efficiently adsorb the dangerous airborne toxins. For chemicals, gases and odors—carbon is key.
