AS 2 Flushing:

  • 2” flush valve – The flush starts with a flushing system that employs a standard 2” valve opening. Controlled by a flapper that is engineered to be chemical-resistant, American Standard flushing systems are highly regarded for their durability.
  • 360 degree cleaning – Water entering the bowl does so in a sweeping 360-degree motion. This is designed to help completely clear the bowl, even while using less water.
  • Powerful siphoning water jet – A perfectly positioned water jet captures the circular flow of water for optimal performance with minimal energy loss (water doesn’t hit a flat spot and slow down). As waste and water exit, they are siphoned into the trapway for an unmatched push/pull one-two punch.
  • 2” fully glazed trapway – Waste and water exit the toilet through a 2” trapway that is fully glazed, which seals it and provides for a smooth surface that waste can in no way cling to.

American Standard 2486.010 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from shortest (front to back) toilet on market We've had this toilet in place for about 10 months now -- performs perfectly, but here's the real key: for folks with a small space, I am about 90% positive this is the shortest front-to-back toilet on the market. (I spent about 10 hours searching online to determine this.) 24.5"; the Kohler Rialto, often billed as the shortest, is at 25.25 I believe (and is a really funky modern style, not appropriate for our 1930s house). We put this into a 5' x 5' FULL bath we added out of a kitchen pantry -- with a Kohler Villager tub across the back, this toilet next to it, and a very small-scale pedestal sink directly across. It looks perfectly normal and functions beautifully. Heartily recommend, and may order a second shortly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a deal! I have a 110 year old house with a bathroom whose original footprint has the toilet and vanity across from each other (knees banging the vanity, etc); changing this footprint in this very small space would have significantly altered the exterior of the house, to a very negative extent (eliminating a window) Thus, I was left with updating with small but functional equipment. This toilet is perfect. It is extremely small but functions with remarkable efficiency. The tank is quite tiny, but I have had absolutely no issues (about 4 months now) with function: flushing is more than adequate, and quite quiet. Worth every penny (although it is an inexpensive toilet). My only gripe is that it came missing a tank-bowl gasket, and the knucklehead who originally installed it thought he could improvise. A competent plumber was able to resolve the issue without having to go back to the Faucet DIrect folks. A little more installation expense than I needed, but the finished product is perfect. One thing to keep in mind - the tank top is very small and barely holds a box of do not expect to be able to store anything on top of the tank.
