AS 3 Flushing:

  • 3” flush valve – The flush starts with a flushing system that employs a 3” valve opening, allowing water to enter the bowl at a much faster rate than the industry standard 2” flush valve. Controlled by a flapper that is engineered to be chemical-resistant, American Standard flushing systems are highly regarded for their durability.
  • 360 degree cleaning – Water entering the bowl does so in a sweeping 360-degree motion. This is designed to help completely clear the bowl, even while using less water.
  • Powerful siphoning water jet – A perfectly positioned water jet captures the circular flow of water for optimal performance with minimal energy loss (water doesn’t hit a flat spot and slow down). As waste and water exit, they are siphoned into the trapway for an unmatched push/pull one-two punch.
  • 2” fully glazed trapway – Waste and water exit the toilet through a 2” trapway that is fully glazed, which seals it and provides for a smooth surface that waste can in no way cling to.

Other Technologies / Benefits:

  • Concealed Trapway – Concealed trapways make a remarkable difference in the pose of a toilet. By covering the waste chute, they streamline the appearance for a look that fits well in both traditional and modern bathrooms. They also serve the functional purpose of eliminating resting spots for hair and dust. Included on the sides are ports (with color-matched caps) to allow access to the floor bolts.
  • Everclean Surface – Using the antimicrobial properties of silver (the precious metal), Everclean Surfaces inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. The super smooth, baked-in, mirror-like surface not only eliminates unsightly rings, but also helps repel toilet messes.
  • PowerWash Rim – During each flush, a measured amount of water travels within an inner-rim channel to be evenly dispersed throughout the bowl. PowerWash rims are surprisingly good at completely clearing out the bowl after each use.
  • Right Height – Right Height bowls lift the sitting-height an additional 1.5 inches off the ground for a more comfortable seated position that is easier to get in and out of. This feature is particularly well liked by men, taller women, and the elderly.
  • Slow-Close Seat – Similar to the operation of a seat belt, Slow-Close seats allow users to lift and close the seat normally, with no resistance, but should the seat suddenly drop, a special mechanism “catches” it then slowly closes it. Both the seat and lid have this feature.

American Standard 2891.128 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flush Pretty, clean lines. Flushes great. Good height even for a short person such as myself. Only negative is that the seat cover 'sticks' to the seat occasionally so that when you lift the cover the seat comes with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always clean!!! I purchased this toilet for my main bathroom, when a major reno was done, 5 months ago, and have just purchased 2 more, to go in my ensuite and powder room. I absolutely love it!!! It looks great, it's super efficient, and best of all, it is virtually self cleaning!!! In 5 months, I have swished a brush around the inside of the bowl maybe 3 times, though it wasn't visibly dirty. I've wiped over the seat the odd time. And I've brushed a few cat hairs off the top of the tank, once or twice. I did have one problem, when the seat cover spontaneously cracked, only 2 months after it was installed. But American Standard was wonderful, and sent me a new seat immediately. My friends all laugh at me, as I go around talking about "loving my toilet", but it's true. I'm a senior, and have had cheap toilets all my life. I never knew what I was missing, and would recommend this toilet to anyone.
