I am looking for one that has a high gloss finish. A friend has one and it almost looks like glass.
A. The Bemis 1500EC does have a High gloss multi-coat enamel finish.
Whats open front & closed front
A. A open front seat has a gap in the front of the toilet seat. A closed front is solid all the way around.
Can I buy a set of these white easy clean/change hinges as shown on this model seat?
A. Im sorry but all Beamis seats come complete with the hinges, I do not have the hinges available separately.
Is this plastic? what is the longevity of this toilet seat?
A. The Bemis 1500EC is not plastic, but wood with an enamel coating and a one year warranty.
is this seat plastic? what is enamel
A. The Bemis 1500EC is made from wood and not plastic. Vitreous enamel, usually just called enamel, also porcelain enamel in U.S. English, is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 °C (1380 and 1560 °F). The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating on metal, and also glass or ceramics, although the use of the term "enamel" is often restricted to work on metal, which is all that this article covers. The fired enameled ware is a fully laminated composite of glass and metal.

Why don't we show the price?
Like many retailers, Build.com can choose to set its own prices independently. And even though manufacturers require Build.com and other retailers to display a product's "minimum advertised price" (or MAP), the retailer can choose to sell for less than that. But the price must be conveyed in other ways, and each individual manufacturer's MAP policy determines where the price can be seen.
To see the price for this product at Build.com, you'll need to place it in your shopping cart, and maybe even proceed to final checkout. If you're not ready to buy the product, simply remove it from the cart.
Build.com apologizes for any inconvenience. We'd just like to offer you the chance to save extra money while we adhere to manufacturers' MAP policies. Build.com is also working to educate manufacturers on how their policies impact customers and their buying behavior.
