Corner/Detail Sander Kit
Just a solid tool for getting the job done.
I purchased the predecessor to 1294VS, I used it for ten years. I finally wore it out. It was my GO-TO sander in antique restoration. My son, knowing I was with out a sander purchased the 1294vs for Fathers day. I can only assume, not having used it yet, that it will be as good as my old one. My experience with Bosch has been nothing short of "Great" Keep up the good work!

Good for getting in to corners
I restore old wood machinist chests. My wife bought the sander for me to use in my hobby of restoring old machinist chests. It worked fine for about a year then it started to slow down no matter how high I set the speed. The pad and plate then fell off in a melted pile and the motor started smoking, shorting out the wall plug.

Really versatile and hefty unit
Most has already been said, but I will emphasize that this sander does get into a light of tight corners (don't we all!), and partners well with a palm sander for the wider open spaces. I had to keep reminding myself to switch back to my regular sander. The pads do wear down fairly quickly, but can be rotated easily. The baby pads also work well, but just for the really narrow or irregular corners. After using the sander continuously for an hour or more, it never overheated at all. I used it outside to all the dust to disperse, but indoors I will probably look into the hose attachment.

This is a great tool. I use it on my wooden boat. It is very powerful for a detail sander. I would recommend buying a few extra triangle pads. The points begin to come apart after some heavy use. I use regular hook and loop paper and cut it to size. That works fine for me. I would buy Bosch paper if I was going to hook this thing up to a vac to be somewhat dustless. This is definately a good tool. I will replace this when it stops working!!
