Ariston Point-of-use electric water heater (2.5 gallon)
"Fantastic Long Overdue"
Finally the plumber came and installed the 2.5 gal. heater under my kitchen's triple sink which was a piece of cake for him. Not one complaint from the plumber upon install. I decided to connect its inlet to the COLD water line as to not defeat the purpose of saving $$. I did have the plumber to increase the thermostat to high since I felt the inlet water cooled the temp too quick set on the default temp and I haven't been without hot water since. It's wonderful having instant hot water for a pot or two, etc. The gas water heater on the far side of the house is still used for the dishwasher and I'm not concerned with wasting water and power/gas to heat up the inlet water supply after washing a dish or two. This heater performs as advertised and also FaucetDirect.com has the best price with free shipping on the Internet and delivered quickly. I still need to purchase a rectangular cake pan to be used as my drip pan.
Men, Mother's Day is around the corner, surprise that wife, mother or both with this gift and you will not regret it. I regret not having my husband/plumber to install this useful heater prior to his death years ago. I didn't mind providing this feedback as I used previous comments as a determining factor to make my purchase of this Bosch water heater. Truth is I could actually use another one of these in a vanity area. Thank you,

Wow, why'd I wait so long?
I am one happy woman with this item! Had thought about something like this for years and finally got around to it and can kick myself now for not buying it sooner...dishes would pile up because I wouldn't want to run and waste the water for 4 minutes until it got hot, now it's instant and I enjoy getting things cleaned up more often, quicker and I just get such a kick out of how efficient it is, it is everything and more of what I hoped for, didn't take my husband long at all to get it going and he is surprised it works so good. Don't wait! And the unit was delivered in just a few days. Will sure order thru you again. Thanks so much!

Good small water heater
At my house, the central water heater is too distant to get hot water quickly in the kitchen. I installed this heater under the kitchen sink and connected its inlet to the HOT water line so the tank would be refilled with warm water if I depleted the reserve.
The heater works well, but I had to set the thermostat all the way up. There is an inner cover behind the front cover that is not mentioned in the instructions; I had to figure out how to get the inner cover back on. (It would have been simple to make a small hole in the inner cover to adjust the thermostat without removing the cover.) The heater is totally silent in operation. The insulation is very good, and the heater retains heat well and recovers quickly. The main heat loss is from the relief valve.
The initial water is very hot (about 150°F after resetting the thermostat), although it moderates after I draw about a litre of water. Still, it is adequate and fulfils my needs.
Tip: Whilst searching for a suitable drip pan, I found a rectangular cake pan at Wal-Mart that was ideal.

First time in 10 years that I have had hot water at my bathroom sink without waiting a full minute. I had even abandoned washing my face at night because I felt so guilty about how much water I wasted waiting to get 1 cup of warm water.
Such a treat to not freeze my hands off when washing my hands in the early morning.
Super easy to install. Did it my self in less than an hour once I had all the plumbing parts together.
As an added bonus, it is completely silent.
Even my husband is delighted and now wants me to install one in the kitchen.

This is my best purchase. I hate to wait and waste the water every time I take a hot shower. I installed this tank in the closet behind the shower faucet. The matter of fact is that I save more money by adding this tank. Now I can lower the temperature of the hot water tank in the basement. Why should we have to use more energy to maintain the big standby water tank at high temperature in the cold basement, and then we have to add the cold water to it to drop it down if we do not have too many member in the household?.

piece of cake
After receiving the Bosch GL2.5 I decided it was too cramped to go "undersink" and since the kitchen sink was on an outside wall to our deck I went through the wall. I kept the foam packing & used it as a base & some insulation. The shipping box made the perfect template for the boxed cover. Everything went smoothly & works like a charm. Yet to determine the savings but all that doesn't matter since the wife is pleased. Obviously I'm a "do-it-yourselfer" & would recommend this to everyone. (unable to upload pictures).

Pretty good so far
I found the unit to work perfectly. I have had it installed for 3 months without any issues. It has a variable temperature setting that is sensitive, but, works well. The reason this unit is not 5-stars in my book is that to change the temp setting a couple of front plates have to be removed from the unit to get to the dial. Major inconvenience when setting it up, but, ok if that is where you want to leave the setting at forever. Buy this unit with confidence it does what it says it does and "does it well."

The unit was more challenging to install than anticipated, but our plumber figured it out eventually. The unit is much bulkier than anticipated, so we have to replace the sink unit to accommodate it. We are also a bit challenged to regulate the water temperature which comes out too hot currently. However, it seems to be an excellent and cost effective solution for our needs and appears to work well in our commercial building. We will buy more of these heaters for other locations.

Ariston GL2.5 works well
Works well but not as well as hoped for. There appears to be a large gap between the high temp setting and the average temperature of the output water. So at times the water temperature is at, say, 125 degrees and other times closer to 100 degrees. This shortly after turning tap on after a period of inactivity. Questions about a fix to Bosch have been ignored. So expect no help from the manufacturer.

The hot water in my store was hooked up through the oil fired hot water heater of the store next door and was a constant source of tension between neighbors. This little unit was just the right size for our needs and installed easily. The unit is flexible, easily adjusting to my needs. The price was right and the free shipping helped seal the deal. Thanks.
