ease of installation
in 3 hours it was up and running from scratch,
works well with this convenient temp control for start up and shut down, fits nicely between 16" on center wall studs.

Just what we needed
The fan was easy to install. It works well and is quiet. Had to put a few washers under one of the bracket mounting screws so the screw tip would not hit the fan blades. No problem. Thermostat works well. It would be good to offer an intake screen as an easily obtained option, rather than as a special request, but we don't need it anyway. Very pleased overall.

excellent product
I installed 2 of these fans in my shop to cool and lower humidity on the second floor storage area. They work better than expected.

A good fan
This is an excellent fan. It goes around and around and moves a lot of air and if it was a woman I'd marry it.
It's so easy to install that a complete idiot could do the job, in fact, one did!

solid attic fan
Product arrived quickly, with package in good condition. Well built fan, solid construction (not flimsy at all). I installed the fan behind a wall mounted louvre on a plywood cutout that extended to the adjacent studs. Wiring was straight forward and when powered up fan ran quiet and moved a lot of air. Overall, for the price this fan is a good value, and as a repeat shopper at Venting Direct, they're a good retailer.

Air Mover
This fan is easy to install, but was smaller than I thought. It does move a lot of air. It is not as quiet as I hoped, but it is not like some of the fans I have heard.

Is this fan reversible? I would like to put one at either end of my house for cross ventilation.
The Broan 35316 is not reversible. It is designed to be used as an exhaust fan and you can install other passive vents to supply the cooler air.
Does the Broan come with a louver that opens automatically?
The Broan 35316 does not come with louver. When you add it to your cart, it will ask you if you want the Broan 433 Automatic Shutter.
is this better off hard wired ? is it thermally protected ?
The Broan 35316 is thermally protected and must be hard wired.
Can I swith this unit on and off at will?
The Broan 35316 attic ventilator can absolutely be switched on and off at will.
Broan 35316 gable fan, does it have to have a wall switch to work. I would rather not have to put one in to to fish wiring from the attic to lower level.
The Broan 35316 does require a switch to operate but also has a built in thermostat.
