Roof Mount Powered Attic Ventilator 3 5 1 1

It does do the job that it's suppose to in venting the attick and getting the hot air out of there. However the first one that I bought, (same model) only lasted me three years before the motor froze. I would think that those powered vents should last a lot longer. I purchased the same model so that it would be easy to just change out the "guts" and that way I could do it myself without hiring a roofer. Let's hope I don't have to do it again in 3 years July 15, 2008

Is it required to have a louvre on the far side to pull the air across the attic? How do I arrive at the Sq. Footage of the attic without having to crawl around up there? Thanks.

The Broan 355 is sufficient for up to 1715 square feet, you should be able to get an idea of what you have by estimating.
