8.0 Amp, Roof Mounted Powered Attic fan

Too often, attic ventilation is overlooked, not to mention ignored as a place for energy savings. That’s where Broan solutions make sense. Consider this: air trapped in your attic can easily reach 150 degrees or more. With Broan ventilation solutions, it’s still a full 60 degrees cooler in the attic on a 90 degree day. That’s why attic ventilation is critical to making any home more comfortable while lowering energy costs. Air conditioners can run less and won’t have to work as hard. Humid, stagnant air can be removed, drawing fresh dry air across the surfaces. Your attic can be drier and cooler – the perfect tools to help fight potential moisture damage. Each PVC dome is available in three popular performance ratings along with two metal dome models. Select one that best suits the attic size and shingle color.

  • Durable off-white, fade-resistant PVC dome can be painted to match roof color.
  • Mounts easily between rafters - template included for cutting roof boards and shingles.
  • Mesh screen keeps out birds and insects.
  • 3 7/8" high splash guard helps keep out rain.
  • Heavy gauge metal flashing stands up to nailing and tarring, regardless of climate.
  • Thermostat and motor accessible from outside for easy servicing, if required.
  • HVI certified air delivery @ 0.03" static pressure.
  • 1600 CFM for attics up to 2285 sq. ft.

Broan 356 Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The service was fabulous, shipped very quickly. The attic fan has cooled the 2nd floor more than I imagined. The air conditioning on the 2nd floor is not running continuously, like it was before the attic fan. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the noise of the fan. It sounds like one of your neighbors is mowing their lawn. I would recommend it because it does job, and eventually I'll get accustom to the noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied Of course Broan is a trusted name, but I had never ordered from this site. When I searched for this fan on the internet, I kept coming back to LightingDirect, due to the price and shipping cost. I recieved the best price for my fan and best shipping price and speed. I am very pleased with the fan, 1600cfm for our 48x52 attic. It was easy to install, great directions . We wired to a switch so we can turn it off in the winter, as directions suggest. The temp in the attic went from 150 plus on a really hot day to around 85. Geat deal!!Easy to set themastat temps. Yes its loud if it is in the open, but in the attic, its just like the noise from any fan. No vibrations, and no leaks when its pouring out!!Thanks LightingDirect for great and Fast shipping!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Noisy fan The fan works well and was easy for me to install. However, the product data had no meaningful sound ratings , so I was taking a chance when I purchased it. It is very noisy. I should have had a clue because it operates at a high rpm compared to other fans with the same diameter fan blade, That's is why it has a high cfm capacity which is what I was looking for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5/20/12: People complain of the noise; but it appears no louder than our 20+ air conditioner compressor. Today it is 90+ degrees outside and with the fan running, it is 78 degrees inside....no air conditioner needed (for now anyway). Very pleasantly surprised and happy with our choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second Broan attic fan I installed my first Broan 356 in 2012, and the second in 2013, after we were happy with the first. Nicely packaged with an easy-to-use template on the packing box for first cutting away shingles and then a hole for the fan. Positioning instructions are good (near the peak and between rafters). I learned from my first one to be more patient with cutting the shingles with a utility knife before I jumped to the scroll saw. Electrical hookup instructions cover different useful options and are easy to follow; I may add a on-off override at some point but now they are strictly set to 110 degrees on a thermostat trigger. The second fan is quieter than the first for some reason, both from inside and outside the house. As near as I can measure, the fans, at opposite ends of the house, keep us 2-3 degrees cooler inside in hot weather. We don't have AC but the fans are great a few months out of the year in our very nice coastal climate.
