Does the larger 8.0 amp unit also come with the aluminum dome rather than brown pvc dome?
The Broan 356 (8.0 amp unit) is made of pvc instead of aluminum.

Does the replacement dome have 5 mounting screws? Diameter of dome?
The Broan 358 has a 23-1/4" dome model 98005419 and has 3 screws.
How large is the hole in the roof under the fan?
The Broan 358 needs a roof opening of 14 1/4".
How much wind can the unit stand?
The Broan 358 can withstand 140 mph winds.
Will the model 358 fan shut off immediately if there was a fire in the attic?
The Broan 358 has a thermostat control, but it doesn't have a fire detection device.
Can you please provide more information on the motor?
The Broan 358 model has a Thermally protected, permanently lubricated 120 volt motor, 4.3 amps, 1050 RPM, 1200 CFM, attic max. sq. ft. 1715, and min inlet area of 4.0sq.ft.
Do you have to purchase the control switch for this product?
The Broan 358 Roof Mounted Powered Attic Ventilator does not require the control switch to work. The wall switch is an optional product which would allow you to set a time period for the fan to run or keep it running all the time.
Is a dehumidistat available with this fan?
The recommended dehumidistat for the Broan 358 is the Broan DH100W.
Is it better to install multiple fans, or simply one for an attic of 1800 sq ft?
I would advise to get one unit instead of multiples.
Will the fan bearings allow it to mounted vertically on a gable end?
The Broan 358 can be mounted vertically on a gable end.
Does the fan shut off immediately if there was fire in the attic?
The Broan 358 does not have an auto shut-off feature.
What other parts need to order when buying the 358?
You may need a control switch but the Broan 358 is a complete unit and will function as it is.
