Product Technologies:

Recirculating Range Hood: Recirculating range hoods require no external venting of air. Instead, air is pushed through a charcoal filtration system that removes pollutants before circulating it back into the home. The benefit of such a system is that household temperatures and humidity are easier to maintain, as the internal air never leaves the kitchen. A recirculating range hood is also generally far easier to install, as complex ventilation systems and vent pipe are not required.

Broan 4130 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at best price Our new Broan 4130 Range Hood is excellent! Looks fantastic and does the best job anyone could expect from a non-vented range hood. Also, the price was about one-half of what a comparable range hood would have cost to buy locally - even from the big, well-known, building supply and remodeling stores. I definitely recommend this product to anyone! P.S. The item also showed up even earlier than anticipated! Bestshopper1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Range Hood for the $ I had my doubts about this product, since it was approximately 1/3 the price of the ones at Sears and Lowe's. I am, however, very impressed with it. It arrived promptly, well-packaged, and right to the doorstep. (The first one arrived dented, but build.com quickly rectified that, and the replacement arrived less than a week later.) It was easy to install for 2 people. All of the necessary screws are included. It looks great--matches the Frigidaire stove and refrigerator perfectly, and it is relatively quiet. My only complaint is that it did not come with a template. Take my advice, no matter how well you measure, take the extra few minutes to tape some notebook paper together, lay the range hood on it, and draw out your own template. You'll be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Looking Vent The stainless steel looks great, and the vent fan function is good. You have to get in an awkward position to hold it up under the cabinet to mark the mounting screw locations. I finally just put in 2 diagonal mounting screws and hung the vent to mark the other 2 screw locations to make sure they were accurate. Also, I used a 1 5/8" hole saw rather than the 1 1/4" saw recommended in the instructions for the electrical connector. This gave me a little more tolerance for any misalignment of the vent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but Looks good, I don't know if it really does too much good because it has a small filter screen and fan. The worst part of it is that it had to be installed in an apartment and had no outside exhaust. I had to buy an extra part to do that and be able to plug it in. There is no hole for the wire to come through and hang properly. This caused the wire to be squeezed tightly between the edge of the hood and wall. I just hope it doesn't split.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade! I purchased the stainless version of this and was really pleased. We recently upgraded our low-quality (but came with our house) white appliances one at a time, and after the fridge, dishwasher and oven, the range hood was the last thing. This installed easily (took about 30 minutes to get the old one out and put this one in, and I'd never done it before) and looks like it cost a lot more than it did. I might add that there are notches in the sheet metal at the top to be punched out so YOU CAN USE THIS FAN TO VENT TO THE OUTSIDE (at least in the stainless model). Echoing an earlier comment, the filter does feel a lot flimsier and thinner than my old one (~12 years). Other comments indicate that the fan is noisy also. If you're upgrading from a bottom end fan, this one will be quieter and more powerful. I'm 100% happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Install! I got this product to replace an older broan range hood from the 70's I think. This one was much lighter than the other one, but it installed easily. I'm not a DIY'er, but had no problems getting this in. My only draw back on this one is the noise. If your looking for a quite unit, you need to get one that has low sones. These are generally more expensive, but worth the investment if your trying to listen to the TV while cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Kitchen Vent Exhaust Fan This was same product you find in HD and Lowes. Same quality and lot lower price. Made well, sturdy and durable. Metal was strong, and the directions with it were good. All the parts and accessories were in the box ready to assemble. The unit itself has a light and the fan has two speeds, high and low which work well. Nice to have a re-usable washable filter that is easy to take in and out to clean. Looks great in the kitchen and very pleased with it. I would buy another and would recommend this to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality, Terrific Price I wanted a stainless steel ductless hood to go over my range. Having seen prices as high as $700, I decided that my small kitchen could do without designer "clothing". This Broan hood is perfect. Nice finish on the stainless, and gives the cooking area a more up-to-date look. Goes nicely with my Bosch stainless appliances without stealing the show. My contractor installed it, so I can't evaluate ease of installation. I do know I got just what I wanted at the best price out there!
