Broan HRV90 Success! Excellent, solid product. Very well made. Of note is that this unit is not designed for homeowner installation, however, I was able to successfully install the unit in under 6 hours. Be sure to order the remote control kit (VT4W). The unit has 5" ports, and insulated 5" ducting is sometimes difficult to find. The Tandem Transition kit was also a helpful purchase and made the installation much easier. Attach your ducts to the Tandem Transition before putting the Tandem Transition in place. Sorry I don't have a picture handy. December 17, 2007

What are the differences between models HRV90HT and HRV90HS and models ERV90 CT and ERV90HC?

The ERV90HCS includes side ports. The ERV90HCT inlcudes top ports.

does the unit come with the wall control and is it a timer?

The Broan ERV90HCS does come with a wall control. The standard wall control does not include a timer. This can be used with an optional wall control # VT4W which does include a timer.

Please explain Homeshield Defrost System.

The Broan ERV90HCS Homeshield Defrost system means that if it is too cold outside for air to come through the system, the damper will close and it will filter and recirculates the air until the system thaws out.
