A good bargain unit
This range hood is a good bargain unit. I priced range hoods at several local stores and thought the prices were too high as I wanted mine primarily for appearance. The first range hood was delivered promptly , but unfortunately had some damage. A quick call to a representative and the issue was resolved without problems. The customer service was polite and helpful. The second unit arrived quickly. It had a very minor ding but not where it showed so we kept it. My only concern would be that the manufacturer's packing leaves room for improvement. Overall I would recommend the unit, especially at the low price and if you are not seeking a heavy duty model.

Very Nice Vent
We purchased this for our son's new house. It was an odd size we thought would be hard to find. This was very reasonably priced, and the install was very easy! We love it!

really good product
I just recently installed the Range Hood purchased and it is running great. Like the fact that if i didn't have the duct work already in place i could have still installed the system and used the inside air vent. Product was only 1/4 inch longer then i wanted but unless your real close it is hardly noticable. I will be using this site and get more products in the future when new projects come up.

Great Deal!
I was very pleased with this range hood! The price was unbeatable. I recieved it in just a couple of days and we were able to install it ourselves with no electrical experience. Will definately be purchasing more from Lighting Direct in the future.

does this fan have an outside vent?
The Broan F4042 is the hood only. It can be converted to a non-ducted by removing the cover plate.
Does this have a one have speed control?
The Broan F4042 has a two speed fan control.
Our current duct work is 5 inch and wanted to know if you sell a duct adapter for this vent requiring 7 inch round duct size?
We do not recommend using an adapter to go down to a smaller duct than what the unit requires. Using too small a duct can cause performance problems as well as increased noise and vibration.
Does this hood have an exhaust fan?
The Broan F4042 :it does have a blower with 2 speeds and i is recirculating and will remove smoke.
can this venthood be installed as free hanging over an island range? does it have a carbon filter? will it remove smoke?
The Broan F4042 is not meant to be hung over islands. it is however, recirculating and will remove smoke.
Does this fan have a light?
This unit does have a light. It takes up to a 75W bulb.
