The Broan L300KMG can be used in a residential kitchen however it may be a bit loud at 3.1 Sones for 8 ft ceilings if your kitchen is on the small side. Let me know if you have any other questions.
The Broan L300KMG can be vented through the wall and will need the 8" round duct, Broan 643. The Broan LAF1 Aluminum Mesh Filter is also recommended to keep it cleaner, but not required.
The Broan L300KMG can be installed as you proposed but I still would not recommend it to exhaust cooking grease as it will gum up and fail over time.
The Broan L300KMG box is 12 by 12 and the grill is 14 by 14.
The Broan L300KMG can be installed over a cook top, provided you have the ductwork in place to ventilate it. You cannot install cooktop vents to vent directly into the attic, due to the risk of fire.
The Broan L300KMG would be able to be installed in this area. A 2x12 is actually 11 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch dry wall would give it just enough room. No access is needed from the top for routine maintenance.
The Broan L300KMG can be mounted on a sloped ceiling.
The Broan L300KMG only needs the inline ducting and a horizontal termination cap to complete the termination.
