30" Allure II Series Under Cabinet Range Hood with 110 CFM/0.9 Sone at normal speed or 300 CFM/4.5 Sone at high speed.
Bought this hood to replace a microwave. It was easily converted to accomodate a plug vs hard wiring. I love the sleek design. It is exceptionally quiet for a range hood and removes smoke quickly. It does have razor sharp edges that you need to take notice of when installing. They do not pose a problem once installed. Broan does need to include the hardware for installation. Light bulbs would be a nice bonus as well. Installation was fairly quick and easy. Low level light makes a great night light as well. I really like the touch buttons vs the older rocker switches. I highly recommend the product.

works well but a pain to install
In a comprehensive remodel, this was one of many products I bought, assembled and installed. The contrast between this "made in USA" product and other offshore products was disappointingly profound. This $300 hood has sharp sheetmetal edges everywhere, requires final assembly by owner, and doesn't even include wire nuts, wiring bushing, or backflow damper for round duct installation. By contrast, $45 bar stools were highly finished, fit together perfectly, and the Phillips screwdriver need for installation was thoughtfully included. Broan should wake up to the reality that some offshore company will have them for lunch--deservedly.

Quiet Powerful Fan, but Difficult to install!
Very quiet low and medium fan noise. High speed fan noise is moderate but tolerable. Suction is great!
A lot of disassembly required to plug ductless vent.
A lot of exact measuring required to fit existing duct work.
Front mounting screws almost impossible to get too.
Took me 2+ hours, one tired wife, and every tool I owned
to get it mounted.
Also no mounting screws, wire nuts, romex fitting, or light bulbs included.
Broan should have included some BC powders for the headache installation causes.
But does look nice and is very quiet, and I really like the pushbutton operation for fan and lights.
Bought a twopack of 50watt Par20 Halogen bulbs at Walmart for $12 dollars + tax.

Nice and Quiet
We purchased this range hood to replace an old noisy one. It is much quieter and does a better job of removing cooking odors than our old one. It also looks much more attractive, too!

Louder than expected
I just completed a full remodel of my kitchen and the new layout required a non-ducted range hood. I looked at quite a few different options before I made this purchase. This item had the lowest sones rating I could find.
The hood looks GREAT! It has 2 lights with 3 brightness settings and that is very cool.
The fan has 3 settings too. It says that for non-ducted applications settings 1 and 2 are the quietest. Well, the lower settings should be quieter so that is obvious.
Setting 1 - very quiet and I mean silent, can barely tell it's actually running.
Setting 2 - sounds pretty much like a bathroom exhaust fan to me. Yes it's definitely louder. Not overwhelming though so we will use this setting if we need it.
Setting 3 - OMG...sounds like a jet taking off. This setting is loud. The only comparison I can think of is when you have your auto AC on high and you switch from normal AC to recirculate. I think most of the noise comes from the exhaust side that is blowing back out into the kitchen. I doubt we will ever use this setting short of a fire on the stove billowing smoke.
All of this said. Based on the look, the way the lights are configured, and the quietness of the 2 lower settings I would buy this product again for a similar application even though it's a little more expensive than other solutions.

Converting to vent mode was difficult. The plastic part broke, had to glue it back together. To use the 7 inch duct, they don't tell you a damper has to be purchased. The whole thing is not real airtight on the inside.
