Darling lamp! We were looking for a lamp or night light for our son's "big boy" fire truck-themed bedroom. This lamp offered the best of both worlds. The lamp portion offers a nice amount of light, and the night light portion (in the cab of the fire truck) has just the right glow for nighttime. The lamp appears to be very well constructed, and my son is absolutely delighted with his new lamp! January 31, 2010
Good lamp with a couple problems Just purchased this lamp. It really is cute and appears to be of good quality and workmanship. I was a little surprised to find that everything that appears white in the picture, is actually grey except the shade which is off white. There are a couple of small problems: 1. I bought the lamp for my 3-year old boy. He loves to turn it on and off and managed to yank the hinges off the night light cover. I probably could glue the hinges back on or replace them. For now, I just leave the night light lid on without the hinges. 2. A problem the manufacturer should have thought of. So, I let my son fall asleep with the nightlight on, when he finally falls asleep, I have to turn the switch 3x. 1st - the lamp comes on and night light goes off (and son is startled by the lamp going on) and then the second turn puts both the lamp and night light on and third turn turns all the lights off. It should be lamp and night light first, then night light, then off. Anyhow, it still is really cute and I can deal with the issues. November 2, 2009
