Knock in motor, but fan has not been replaced yet
I ordered this fan 5 months ago because the brand was highly recomended, it was attractive and seemed to have enough light. It is attractive and pushes plenty of air, but the motor has a knock in it. The warranty technician determined the problem was in the motor so it needs to be replaced. Even after 3 telephone calls to remind him, he has not returned with our replacement. It's now January and no fan.
The light cover dims the light so you can't rely on it alone. Because of this, if the fan worked, I would have given it 4 stars because I like everything else about it, BUT.......

We bought four of these ceiling fans for our house, and the control systems are a nightmare. Casablanca is using a new wireless control design that features all the buttons on a smooth, flat surface. The light buttons are in the middle, and at night, you just have to guess where the buttons are. We considered taping Velcro to the light buttons so that they would stand out, but there were other problems.
In two adjacent rooms wired on separate circuits with a shared ground, one control was turning on the lights and fans for both rooms. After a few days, the control became totally unresponsive, and nothing we did would turn off the light other than removing the bulbs. We could not reset the control, and it still turned on the light and fan in the adjacent room. Our electricians could not fix it, and Casablanca advised that we rewire the two rooms. Another fan had one light button that was unresponsive, and the light would sometimes suddenly dim, go out, then immediately turn back on. A third fan was aligned improperly and rubbed against the light globe.
We contacted Casablanca about all these problems, and they put us in contact with the local service rep. He said that if he came out and determined that any of the problems we pointed out were not a manufacturer's defect, he would charge us hundreds of dollars for a service call.
We decided to throw away all four fans and install cheaper fans with traditional controls. We now have a simple switch for the light, and a separate control dial for the fan, and we couldn't be happier. Now we don't have to train our guests on how to use the lights, and we can turn on the lights with a simple swipe of the hand. It was an expensive lesson--pay attention to the controls when purchasing a ceiling fan, and remember that even high quality companies can make mistakes.

Very Nice Fan
The only glitch with our purchase was that one of the 2 fans we purchased arrived with a very larg3 crack across the light globe. After 2 extended phone calls with CASABLANCA customer service, we have finally been told that they will be shipping a replacement globe to us and that it should be arriving this week. We will let you know......

Casa Blanca Low Profile Fan
We love this fan. It looks beautiful and the remote control is easy and effective. Lighting Direct was great to deal with. They have customer friendly customer service and policies.
