Difference between a Cadillac and a Mercedes
I've purchased an installed quite a few ceiling fans in my day. There are the so-so Hampton Bays or Harbour Breeze fans or what I used to call the Cadillac of fans, Hunter. Now Hunter is a good fan, used to be great but lately the "5 Minute fans" are just so-so. I've owned a couple of Casablanca fans and each one of them is impressive. The installation is straight forward and the materials are superior. Yes they are more expensive but as they say, "You get what you pay for". If you want a Mercedes, Casablanca is for you.

Can the K4SA light kit be used with this fan?

Looking at the features and finishes it appears the brushed nickel finish fan has 2 sided blades that are Cherrywood on one side and platinum on the other; is this correct?
The Casablanca Four Seasons III - 52 in the Brushed nickel will have reversible blades in Platinum and Cherrywood. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Can this fan be hung as is; without a downrod for close to ceiling mount?
Yes, the Four Season III - 52 can be hung without any down rods.
I have a 16 foot high ceiling. How far from the ceiling should the fan hang and how many down rods would I need?
For the Casablanca Four Seasons III - 52, I recommend using a 72" downrod, model number Casablanca PL-72 for a 16' ceiling.
I am confirming that this is an Energy Star qualified fan, comes with a 3" down rod, and does not need a flush mount adaptor (if I decide to do the flush mount).
The Casablanca Four Seasons III - 52 is Energy Star qualified and comes with a 3" down rod. If you want to hang it flush mount you will have to purchase the low ceiling adapter kit (LCA-4).
I have Vaulted ceilings will this work as is or do I need additional peices to hang from the ceiling?

Regardless of the finish the Casablanca Four Seasons III - 52 does not come with spot lights, however light kits are available and sold separately. In fact, once you choose your finish and add the fan to your cart you will have the option to choose a compatible light kit to add to your order.
