what is a par 38 fixture

The Craftmade BF-1 has no available lenses, the bulb of the light would not be able to fit if a lens was applied.

There is a screw on the Craftmade BF-1 at the rim. What is its use?

According to Craftmade it is a screw to tighten the light assembly down to make sure it will not fall. Thanks for your question!

The Craftmade BF-1 is 10 inches tall and 5.1 inches wide. The item extends from the wall 10.5 inches.

The Craftmade BF-1 has a 3.5" wide back plate.

Is this fixture intended for upward direction positions and would a socket type controller work with it? Thank you

The Craftmade BF-1 can be mounted for either up or down lighting however it would not work with a socket type controller.

The Craftmade BF-1 does not have a lens cover in front of the bulb and uses a standard halogen flood light bulb.
