Is this for dry locations only

The Craftmade X215 is listed for damp locations, so it could be used in a bathroom.

What is the diameter of this light?

The diameter of the Craftmade X215 is 15 inches.

Can compact flourescent bulbs be used in this fixture? Why is the X215CF so much more expensive?

The Craftmade X215 can use CFL's the reason that the X215CF is more expensive is because it uses Bi-pin CFL's which uses a special socket and the x215 uses the screw in socket.

can it be put on a dimmer?

The Craftmade X215 can be put on a dimmer as long as the bulbs that you purchase can be dimmed.

Does this light also use standard med. base incandescent bulbs.

The Craftmade X215 can used with a standard medium base bulb or CFL.
