Gasket does not fit lid The dispenser is aesthetic and well built, but the gasket coming with the product is something bigger and gets out of place after a few strokes. Without the gasket the dispenser lid is somewhat loose. I will try to trim the gasket and glue it back the best I can. May 30, 2011

Great Match for Moen 7597 I purchased this soap dispenser in stainless to coordinate with my stainless Moen 7597 kitchen faucet and Kohler 8 degrees series single basin kitchen sink. The squared shape of the soap dispenser mimics the squared shape of the base of the Moen faucet so that they work will together and look as though they were mean to compliment each other without looking like a "set." The dispenser functions well without leaking. I am happy with the purchase. May 2, 2011

Beautiful Piece This soap dispenser is a real heavy piece, well made and sturdy. It's really modern and beautiful, and matched my faucet very well although the faucet is a different make. The only thing that bothers me a little bit is that the spout on this piece allows only a small amount of soap to come out at a time. You need multiple pumps to get enough soap on your sponge. I can deal with that, because of it's overall beauty. April 29, 2010

contemporary ornament this is a beautiful, heavy, well made item. it matches the sirius faucet. i have not installed it yet, but it looks like it is an undermount fill item. that is hard when you are older but i won't trade it. thor clinton, pa October 26, 2009

Stylish Design Very functional and the contemporary design really finalizes the kitchen faucet look. It would be really nice if it swiveled but I guess you can't have everything. June 2, 2008

Pure Design Purchased this with the Sirius faucet set and installed it yesterday with a black granite sink. The effect is stunning! Large soap tank capacity and ease of operation. Replaced an expensive Grohe installation and am so much happier with the Danze line. Hope the rest of its life brings me as much pleasure! May 26, 2008

Great Design This soap dispenser matched the contemporary faucet we purchased so well, we just had to buy it. It is very solidly made, much more sturdy than our previous soap dispenser. It looks wonderful next to the Sirius Single Handle Faucet. December 26, 2007

So which is it? Can this dispenser be filled from the top, or do you need to get underneath the counter and unscrew the container, etc?

It is filled from the top.

What size hole needs to be drilled to install this?

The Danze D495944 requires a 1 1/16" hole.

will a 13/8hole work?

The Danze D495944 is needs a 1 3/4" hole for mounting. The 1 3/8" hole will not work.
