good faucet I really like the looks and function of this faucet. Smooth operation and solid construction. No surprises when someone elsewhere in the house flushes a toilet, either. However, my plumber had a difficult time getting the soldered connections to be watertight. He said that a lot of manufacturers are switching from brass to bronze in their valve bodies to save money, with copper prices being so high. He attributes his difficulty to this change. Ended up using the screw-on connections instead, which worked just fine. I cannot comment on the showerhead since we use a different, handheld one. November 5, 2011

great shower head This was such a great purchase, not only because it looks good but because of the pressure. there are two ways to use this shower head...the eco way and the standard way. We used it the eco way for a while and then decided to take the filter out and use it the standard way. Much more pressure. November 14, 2010
Danze Parma Shower Head & Lever Bought it on line from the look of the picture. Had it installed in my guest bathroom. Looks great - have not yet tried it. I have an all glass frameless shower doors - so you see the detail - looks great and if your looking for a modern decor look - highly recommend it. October 24, 2010

nice design shower head looks great. at first the water coming out of the shower was closer to a "rain shower" which i am not particularly fond of but after removing the tiny orange regulator (yes i know its for conserving water, but i would rather just take a nice quick shower rather that a slow painful one) it produced a great shower. does the included valve control temperature?

Yes. This is a pressure balanced system, so it will control both temperature and volume on the same control.

How does it adjust volume when the control adjusts only temperature - please explain in detail

The Danze D500558 has only limited volume control. It is simply on/off and temperature control. The lever begins straight down and as you begin to turn it clockwise the water turns on and becomes warmer as you continue to turn the lever.

can the valve withstand the 125psi water pressure?

The Danze D500558 has a shower max of 2.2 GPM @ 60 PSI with high temperature limit adjustment, the 1/2-Inch pressure balance mixing valve can provide 6 gallons of water per minute at 45 PSI.

dose the valve have the screw driver stop?

The Danze D500558 valve does include the screwdriver stops.

I want to add hand shower D464602. What else do I need? Can I change to a different shower head?

You can incorporate the D481350 shower arm diverter to link to the two pieces together. If you would like to pick a different shower head pick up the Danze D510458T instead of the full shower kit. You can pick any shower head and arm to complete the installation.

what does 'pressure balanced' mean?

Pressure balanced is referring to the valve used with this kit. It is a shower mixing valve that automatically maintains balance between hot and cold water supplies by immediately regulating fluctuations in pressure. As a result the outlet temperature remains constant. Also known as an anti-scald valve. Same thing.

does this set include all necessary parts: valve, trim, showerhead and rough in valve?
