Does this item come with the drain? And what is the minimum height a faucet would have to be to work with this sink?

A. The DecoLav 1423 does not come with the drain, the sink rim made for semi-recessed installation and will have an overall height of 4" above your counter-top so you probably want a faucet with 6" spout height.

per the specs, the drain hole is 1 3/4" What sized push button drain should I look for? The Decolav 9298 is supposed to be a possible accessory, but it is wider than the drain hole at 2 1/4"?

A. The DecoLav 1423 can be used with the 9290 umbrella drain or the 9298 Pop Up Drain. The 9298 sits differently on the sink since it is a push-button but it does work with this sink.

What is the advantage or disadvantage of not having an overflow in the sink?

A. The DecoLav 1423, not having an overflow means that if someone leaves the water running, unless you have a grid drain in the sink, will overflow until someone shuts off the sink.

Why is that particular P trap recommended?

A. The DecoLav 1423 is compatible with the 9100 series P-Trap which is also available in a matching finish to the drain assembly.
