16.5" Above the Counter Bathroom Sink

Be careful
This sink is very nice BUT.... due to overflow, there is an extra 1.5" in the base of this sink. Add that to the thickness of my travertine countertop, the drain assembly I ordered did not have enough thread. I needed at least 4" and everything on the market seems to be 3.5" or less. I am now less than 3 days from the completion of my bathroom remodel, I see the end it sight... then I get the call from the contractor at the final plumbing stage and I am scrambling to find a new drain assembly that will work, which doesn't seem to exist. My only option may be to buy 2 new sinks that have a smaller base. Unfortunately, I was alerted to the problem after Decolav closed for the day. I will find out tomorrow if they make a drain assembly that will work, and hopefully it is in stock. I tried this afternoon to find something local and in stock to solve my problem, to keep my job rolling, but I may have to wait for something to be delivered.
Lesson learned: get the plumber to take everything out of the box and dry fit it with the counter top thickness in mind WAY before the end of the job so that you have time to return and reorder what you need if necessary. Don't trust that the drain assembly that comes with your faucet will work. I ordered a beautiful Danze faucet and the DA that came with it was incredibly short and didn't come close to working.
Faucet Direct has been VERY accomodating and nice in dealing with all of the issues I have run into with my master bath remodel. I just wish there would have been more info on the Decolav 1435 page to warn me of this issue. Apparently I'm not the first one to have this problem and I hopefully can be the last if you read this. Free shipping and no restocking fees is very helpful. But a poor buying decision can make you have to ship back, and eat the cost of shipping, heavy sinks.
