Structure We have 7 of these fixtures in various sizes on the exterior of our house. One of the 2 large (10') ones recently failed due to weight and design. The loop at the top is just for looks. The glass and attached parts are supported by the hollow metal tube that leads to the wall (and also contains the wires). We recently had some strong winds and the tube snapped at the threaded end. If not for the upper loop it would have fallen and shattered. The fixture is only 5 years old. I expected a longer life, or repair parts. I could repair it with a new tube or information where I could obtain one. April 2, 2011

Best balance between price and style I did a lot of searching for this type of fixture and finally chose this. It was the best balance between price and style. I'm thoroughly happy with my choice. October 18, 2010
