If you wired the Designers Fountain P218C to operate with a wall switch and bypassed the motion detector, this could result in the light being on at all times. The other issue is if there is a lot of motion in your yard, the light would constantly sense this motion and be on continuously.
Hooking up motion detector lights is all about how you wire them in. You can have more than one light on a switch. It is up to how you wire the fixtures.
