A door stop is a small and affordable piece of hardware that cushions the opening of the door and provides a layer of protection for the wall. Hinge Pin Stops

When you don't want to break up the lines of the baseboards and floor with a traditional doors stop, a hinge pin stop is a useful alternative. This stop installs directly on the hinge of the door and features two adjustable pads that keep the door from slamming into the wall behind it. Because they are installed right on the hinge pin, there is no need to drill into a floor, wall, or baseboard.

Floor Stops

Floor stops work much like a baseboard stop, except they mount from the bottom and install directly into the floor. This is a popular choice when, instead of a wall behind the door, there is a piece of furniture to protect.

Wall Bumpers

A wall bumper offers a low-profile design that can be positioned anywhere on the wall according to the design of the door. Usually, only about an inch in depth, it is imperative that they are precisely positioned behind the part of the door that would hit the wall first, such as the end of a handle.

A Hands-Free Way to Hold Doors Open

As a slight variation on door stops, door holders can also be incredibly convenient on entry doors and passage doors that don't always need to remain closed.

Kick Stops

Kick stops install onto the bottom front of the door and serve a handy function. When they are flipped up, the door opens and closes smoothly. Flip the kick stop down with the foot, and the rubber cap on the end holds the door open wherever it is placed. The one-footed design of kick stops makes them ideal for propping a door open when unloading groceries or passing through with hands full.

Door Holders

The same size as a door stop, door holders install behind the door and work to hold the door in the open position, allowing for a hands-free transition between spaces. They require wall installation and stay in position when they aren't being used.
