Wall Construction

Single Wall

Single Wall pipe is mainly for interior use. It consists of a single sheet of material to create the pipe. Depending on the application, you can use single wall pipe for many different types of fuel, please see specification sheets on which single wall pipe works with specific fuel types.

Double Wall

Double wall pipe consists of an inner pipe wall and an outer pipe wall with air passing through between each wall. This design helps with keeping the outer wall cool and reducing clearance to combustibles. Refer to specification sheets on which fuels and applications your double wall pipe can be used with.

Triple Wall

Triple Wall pipe concists of three walls, an inner wall, an intermidiate wall usually stuffed with insullation, and a outer wall which is seperated by a column of air from the second wall. The middle wall with insulation helps keep the inner wall at a consistant temperature and avoids hot spots through out the pipe. The triple wall design is seen on Class A chimney pipe and helps keep clearance to combustables to a minimum.
