I'm trying to location line-voltage (120V) fixtures for exterior/concrete retaining walls and steps. Routing wiring through standard schedule 40 conduit coupled with its companion "J" boxes measuring 4.5" W, 2.75" H and 2.25 depth...like the idea of a surface/wall fixture for the walls, but am having trouble finding the fixture for the steps, which will be located flush in the top riser (facing down from the middle of the steps rather than in the stair walls off to either side). This fixture provides the flesh/recessed feature I need for such an application, but how do you "house" this fixture as a 120V fixture..."J" box...what kind?
The Elco ELST37 has the hold drilled in the side of the housing for the conduit. If you want to run a j-box externally, you would need a conduit nipple between the j-box and the housing of the fixture.
