sleek! We purchased this to replace our ceiling fan with lights because we needed something with movable lights to highlight our new art we purchased on a vacation to Maui. This is perfect because it is as modern as the painting. It was nice also because the base was larger than the fan that was there so it wasn't necessary to paint the ceiling around it! Can I replace the bulbs that come with this light with 50 watt GU10 wide flood bulbs? They are 2" in diameter.

Thank you for your question!This fixtures recommends using only 50watt halogen bulbs.

Is this light suitable for a large living room - in terms of providing enough lighting?

The ET2 E22029 has the ability to supply your room with 200 watts of halogen lighting which should be enough to light the room depending on the size. You might want to find some wall lighting to compliment this fixture though as one light might not be enough.
