Deck Mounted Soap Dispenser 3.6 5 8 10

Second one bad, too I am disappointed, because we LOVE our Grohe faucets. Our 20 year old soap dispenser was a standard plumber issue that never leaked & was also easy to fill from the top like this one. Grohe did replace our first dispenser like this, because it simply wouldn't pump liquid soap. Grohe said they had redesigned the pump mechanism. We were happy with the replacement service. However, now I am finding the other problem has not been addressed. The dispenser leaks below the sink, apparently where the plastic bottle is supposed to pressure fit onto the dispenser. There is no way to screw on the bottle. I've been finding puddles of soap for over a year under the sink, from where I apparently have overfilled the dispenser, not knowing it must have been running over the top of the bottle under the sink. The last straw was last night when I pulled out the wastebasket and the bottom was sticky with soap. My husband has tried to tighten it or fix it in the past and given up. I don't know whether to go through the hassle of contacting Grohe or just get one like our old one, which now I regret replacing, as it never leaked and always pumped. March 21, 2011

Didn't Even Last 6 Months Some of the other reviews said theirs lasted 2 years. I bought 2, one for the main sink and one for the prep sink, neither made it past 5 months before malfunctioning. Worked great until the pumps started seaping soap from under the dispenser. It seems like the soap is oozing out from where the spring is connected to the inside of the dispenser. It's more apparent in the one at the main sink but the prep sink dispenser is now starting to do the same thing. Also, I noticed the main sink dispenser has some rusting where the soap is dispensed out. Really, rusting! I bought Grohe for the quality but unfortunately, it didn't happen with these ones I got. I'm hoping Grohe will replace them but more so that if they do, the replacements will last longer than the originals. May 23, 2010

Disappointed I bought two of these, the first one failed within three months of installation. The second one just failed after 20 months of use. I paid a premium to purchase these based on Grohe's reputation, save your money. February 17, 2010

Works like a charm! It's so easy to fill. I thought I was going to find it a bit messy to deal with, but it fills from the top. It's so nice to have my dish soap always at my fingertips! Looks beautiful too! February 7, 2010

mixed opinion I bought three of these, two for the bathroom and one for the kitchen. They have all failed, the kitchen first, then the two in the bathroom. I would say the time is about two years (as another reviewer observed), depending on use. However, they are beautiful, and all soap dispensers seem to fail fairly quickly. At least Grohe will repair them for you at no cost, or so they say. I am sending mine off to them to see, otherwise will buy new ones. The prices at this website are excellent, so maybe I will get the same ones, or maybe not. January 15, 2010

Great Looks - Short Life This dispenser looks terrific, and for the first two years it worked pretty well too. Only problem was the small amount of soap being dispensed with each stroke. It usually took about three pumps to get a working amount of soap on a dish sponge. Conservation is nice, but this gets frustrating after a while. The large reservoir is nice, but be ready to use the pump more than you might expect. That may be the reason that it only worked smoothly for a little over two years. Then the cylinder started sticking and would not return to the up position, so now you have to pull it back up and pump it. With all that said, however, I'm buying another to replace it. It's too much trouble to get back under the sink and install a different model, and it still looks perfect in our kitchen. June 28, 2009

Excellent Soap Dispenser We are VERY pleased with this Grohe soap dispenser - it has a very contemporary look, fine stainless steel finish, very large soap reserviour to avoid the need for frequent refilling, and large bore tube to avoid plugging. Highly recommended to others. December 24, 2007

where can I buy a replacement 15oz bottle for grohe 28 751 deluxe xl soap/lotion dispenser

The Grohe 28 751 has a replacement bottle part number of 114496.

My sink fits tight to the back of the cabinet beneath the counter. There is no room for the bottle. Is there an extension, or longer soap despenser that would drop the bottle below the sink?

The Grohe 28 751 does not have an extension to drop the bottle lower below the sink. You may want to check out the Hansgrohe 40514 Wall Mounted Soap Dispenser. A wall mounted soap dispenser may suite your space better.

The bottle under the cabinet leaks. How do you remve the bottles to tighten? Does it pull down or screw off?

is this all metal or does it have some plastic?

The Grohe 28 751 does have a couple of plastic components. The "straw" that brings the liquid upwards is plastic as well as the bottle and couple other parts below the countertop. Everything you see above the countertop is made of metal.

The picture shown above doesn't match the picture on the spec sheet to the left; please advise which is the true soap dispenser

The picture is correct, the spec sheet displays an older version of this product.

I bought a grohe "Steel Optik" colored faucet. Please point me to Grohe soap dispensers in this color.
