Grohe 34 182 Reviews
How do you attach the unit to the wall? Is there a special kit to attach it to the wall through tile and rock board?
A. The Grohe 34 182 is going to include the vacuum breaker that is needed for the install.
Are there any similar exposed valves by Moen, Kohler, Delta, etc. My plumber is not familiar with Grohe and said parts are hard to come by.
A. The Grohe 34 182 is not made in China like most other brands are. It is german made and will last you longer. that being said any parts needed can be sent out easily by calling Grohe
Can you use this in a shower that will have both rain shower and handheld shower?
A. The Grohe 34 182 is just for the hand held shower.
Does this valve require any other parts aside from the hot cold supply? Also is there a similar product which uses less water per minute?
A. The Grohe 34 182 does not require any other parts. The product that will give you less water per minute is going to be the accessory that you use with it like the hand shower.
Can this be used in a shower with a hand-held and rain shower?
A. The Grohe 34 182 is compatible with a hand/rain shower.
Does this product require any other parts or just this valve? And is there another version which uses less water or is this handled by the handheld shower attachment? Thanks
A. The Grohe 34 182 does not require any other parts. The hand shower is the item that allows for a reduced water flow.
Grohe recommends this for their Freehander. But I read here this is for hand shower. Will this work for Freehander and what do I need to rough in?
A. The Grohe 34 182 would not work with the Freehander. There are not additional parts needed to complete installation. This unit acts as a mixing valve.
Can I use this product with a Hot Water Recirculation Pump?
A. The Grohe 34 182 can be used with a hot water recirculator system.
How fast will the temperature control compensate for flow changes in the hot or cold water supply lines?
A. The Grohe 34 182 and all mixing valves do not adjust for flow changes, unless they are severe, this compensation is called "Scald Guard". When you adjust a mixing valve you are adjusting the mixture of the water based on the current pressure, if that changes your temperature will change. If pressure drops suddenly and severely in one line, you will notice a significant drop in pressure as an internal piston chokes the flow of water on the other line, in order to prevent you from being burnt (or severely chilled).
