How to Make a Spice Rack

Maximize your cabinet space by making a spice rack. This is a simple and fun DIY project that will open up valuable cupboard space.

Tools/Materials:

Masonite, pen, circular saw, jig saw

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

Trace shelf for sizing on the masonite.

Step 2:

Cut out the masonite with a circular saw (also called a skill saw).

Step 3:

Measure a 2-inch border for the shelf.

Step 4:

For more style and detail, trace the bottom of a glass for rounded corners.

Step 5:

Cut out masonite with a jig saw.

Step 6:

For more support, glue a piece of wood to the bottom of the spice rack.

Step 7:

Add the new spice rack to your cabinet.

Step 8:

Add your spices and enjoy the extra space for spices or other kitchen items.
