Can this fan be installed flush to the ceiling or with a shorter rod? I have a low ceiling but love this fan.
The Hunter 21647 cannot be flush mounted, it comes with the smallest downrod available (6 inches) and must be used. I hope this helps!

Awesome looks and functionality
This fan looks awesome, runs very quiet and cools great. Would definitely recommend for all reasons. I get tons of compliments on the looks when people walk into the room. Transformed frigid WI into a tropical paradise in my living room...looks fantastic!

It says this fan has "installers choice 3 position mounting system." What does this mean if it can't be mounted flush with the ceiling.?
The Hunter 21647 - THe "installers choice" allows this fan to be mounted as a flush mount, semi flush mount and as on a down rod. These 3 positions allow each fan to have a highly diverse mounting.
Does this fan come in a smaller size?
The Hunter 21647 is unfortunately only available in that size.
Is this model fan rated for wet or damp installations?
The Hunter 21647 ceiling fan is UL listed, but not for wet or damp locations. It should be used indoors only.
What is the right remote fan/light switch for this unit?
The Hunter 21647 does have a remote that will work with this, item number Hunter 27185.
Would this ceiling fan work in a 14 X 14 office with a ceiling height of 8 feet?
The Hunter 21647 will be too large for the size of room you have. I would recommend using a 42-48" fan size.
Are the bulbs small base or large?
The Hunter 21647 uses medium base bulbs.
Does this fan come without a light kit?
The Hunter 21647 includes the light kit but you do not have to use the kit. We do not sell the item without the kit. We have a similar fan without a kit which is the Hunter 23980
Does this fan have a pull chain for fan and light?
The Hunter 21647 does have a pull chain for the fan and light.
What is the total height using the 6" down rod?
The total height with a 6" downrod is going to be 21.18".
Can I wire the fan and light to dimming wall switches to control the blade speed and the light brightness?

Can this fan be surface mounted?
The Hunter 21647 unfortunately can't be mounted, so you will have to use the smallest downrod provided which is a 6".
Does this come with a remote control?
The Hunter 21647 does not come with a remote, but is remote adaptable.
Is mounting with longer down rod possible? Included with fan?
The Hunter 21647 can be used with the Hunter 28266 12" downrod which is an optional accessory.
We have a 12' ceiling and want the fan to hang down 3-4' from the ceiling. Does the fan come with a 3-4' downrod, or can one be obtained?
The Hunter 21647 can be used with additional downrods. Hunter Downrods-36 and downrods-48 will be for a 3' and 4' downrod, respectively.
Are downrods included?
The Hunter 21647 includes a 3" downrod. Additional lengths that range from 12-72" can also be purchased.
What is the model number for a 48" downrod in bronze finish?
The Hunter 21647 has a compatible 48" rod in new bronze, model 26045, which will coodinate with the weathered bronze fan.
