can I get a light kit for this fan?

The Hunter 23980 can be equipped with any of the hunter brand light kits.

Can these fans be used in a pergala or somewhere there is no ceiling or roof of any type above it?

The Hunter 23980, this has to have a roof. This is only damp rated; you would need to go with a wet rated fan to not have a roof.

Can you get smaller blades in same wicker design

The Hunter wicker blades are only offered in the 54" model.

Does this fan have an extension rod so that it can be dropped down from the ceiling?

The Hunter 23980 does have downrods that will work with it. Type "Hunter Down Rod" in the search box on our website and it will bring up a few different sizes. Then choose the Provencial Gold finish.

How long is the down rod? If not 12" can I buy a 12" down rod to match?

The Hunter 23980 comes with a 3" down rod and yes a 12" is available. item number 28224.
