great purchase The product did not come with pull chains to turn it on & off.....The chains attached were a few inches long..I had to buy new ones ! July 25, 2011

Do the candalabra bulbs have standard lightbulb bases or can you order this unit with standard bulbs?

The Hunter 25579 uses four 40w candelabra base bulbs and can not be used with standard household bulbs.

Does this fan come with a downrod? If so, what size?

The Hunter 25579 ceiling fan comes with a 2.5" downrod.

Does this fan come with light oak blades ?

The Hunter 25579 comes with Walnut / Medium Oak blades.

Does this model work with a remote? If yes, what model number and does it work with both a wall switch number 27186 and a remote when you use both?

Thank you for your recent question. The Hunter 25579 has 2 remotes that are compatible. The first is a wall remote which is 27186 and the hand held is 27206.

Is this fan reversible?

The Hunter 25579 is reversible.

Can this fan be installed flush to the ceiling, and if so, what is the diameter of the base that would sit against the ceiling; can I purchase this fan without the lighting fixtures?

The Hunter 25579 can be installed as a flush mounted fan. However we could not find the diameter of the ceiling plate but it would have the same diameter flush mount or mounted normally and should be around 6-8 inches. The light kit also is removable so you dont have to use it but there is not a model that does not include it.

The 52" Blade span of the Hunter 25579 is measured from the end of one blade to the end of the opposite blade, resulting in the approximate diameter of the entire fixture.

The Hunter 25579 can be controlled by the particular control you purchase.

Can you get this light with white blades?

The Hunter 25579 does not come with white blades. This fan comes with walnut/medium oak blades.

Yes, the 6' downrod is product 'Hunter Downrods-72'.

Thank you for your question. The Hunter 25579 can be mounted on a sloped ceiling and can use additional down rods to extend the length. Furthermore, it can be used with the 27186.

Can I exchange this model with a bowl instead of the globes?

The Hunter 25579 only comes with the 4 shade globes, but you can purchase a different light kit.
