Traditional / Classic Four Light Straight Arm Ceiling Fan Light Fitter
My New Hunter Fan Light Kit
I bought this unit to replace one of the same design. The one it replaced is a now-discontinued incandescent version.
The kit was very easy to install, even though none of the options in the directions in the installation manual were applicable to my particular Hunter Fan.
I was concerned that the spiral compact fluroescent bulbs would be ugly, but when the light is on, you cannot see the spirals. And when they're off, you don't really see much of them because of the shades. The compact flourscent bulbs really light up the room. It emits more light than the incandescent version and uses lower wattage bulbs to do it.
The online catalog photo depicts the socket enclosures as black, but mine are white. So if you're concerned about them being black, you may not have anything to worry about.
This unit comes with 4 compact flourescent bulbs, so I am still not sure how readily available the replacement bulbs will be, so I kept one of the 4 bulb boxes for the spec information for future reference.
Overall, I would recommend this purchase, but be mindful that the installation book may not have your exact condition illustrated.

Worked well to replace current light
I bought this item to replace the standard dome light the original fan came with as the light was not bright enough. This fit what I wanted perfectly and gives plenty of light, with the four bulbs included. One was broker upon delivery, but I had some extra so that was not a big deal. The directions are just ok, and I think most people will have to use part intuition/part directions to fit each need. It was very easy to do though and I think I changed the lights in 20 minutes. There is a slight issue of one of the lights flickering, but I am not sure if that is the connection or the light itself.

Product finish is very close to the modern day "chestnut brown," finish of today's Hunter Original ceiling fan. You really have to "look" to notice the difference in finish.
If you have the fixture turned on the difference is more obvious, of course.
I've not been able to find a multi-light fixture for the "chestnut brown," Hunter Original ceiling fan so, this is what I could find that was the closest match.
Product has a really nice look to it with the right globes!

I purchased a 4-light addition to a celing fan. The price was right, shipping adequate, installation instructions confusing (did not mention the possible switch in the fan for a light, for which I hired a contractor, because I could not get it to work).
Overall 4/5 good. The site, Build.com 5/5.
