This kettle steamer provide beauty and humidity to any room. Not to be used for drinking water.
Alan Hisey founded HY-C COMPANY in 1947 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Their first product was an aluminum chimney cover manufactured in Mr. Hisey’s garage. HY-C is still owned by the family, but the facilities have expanded from the garage to an entire city block just north of downtown Saint Louis, plus an auxiliary warehouse in south Saint Louis. In 1980 the company manufactured its first assembled, black-painted, galvanized chimney cover. A few years later HY-C added the same covers made out of stainless steel. Over time several items were added to the chimney cover line as demand grew, and eventually, Hy-C expanded their offerings to many other fireplace and hearth accessories. Hy-C has been the mark of quality since 1947.

HY-C K25-BLK-P Reviews

The jury is outWe received the kettle in a timely fashion and it looks just as we expected.I bought this cast iron kettle to rest on the top of the first wood burning stove that I have ever had, as I know it will help humidify the winter air when we use the stove in the winter. I did not educate myself before putting it into service. I like the way it looks. We filled it half full and put it on a cast iron trivet on the top of the stove. The water got warm but the kettle did not emit a visible steam flow. We left the kettle empty for a few days and discovered that a health crop of rust was growing on the inside surface of the kettle. Now, I am wondering if I was supposed to "season" the inside of the kettle with oil, as you would a cast iron frying pan before using it?
