Basic Installation and Delivery Include:

All freestanding electric appliances will be uncrated, set in place, leveled and connected to an existing proper power source. If proper electrical outlets, gas shut off valves, water supply and shut off valves, or venting sources are not available at the time of delivery, a complete installation will not be possible.

Due to state and local codes, some GE products cannot be installed. Appliances that cannot be installed include cooktops, garbage disposals, built-in microwaves, ovens, range hoods, trash compactors, slide-in and drop-in ranges.) Haul Away Service:

If you purchased a “haul away” service, the delivery agent will haul away products, but only if they’re uninstalled prior to the agent's arrival. Under no circumstances will the delivery agent haul away built-in refrigerators (i.e. refrigerators with compressor on top). The delivery agent will not disconnect and remove (“uninstall”) the following built-in products: slide-ins, wall ovens, cooktops, hoods, and drop-ins. However, if the above built-in products have been disconnected, the delivery agent will haul them away.

Local code restrictions may require the customer to hire a licensed contractor to disconnect hardwired or gas appliances, so be sure to plan ahead for this.

Please empty and clean out the old appliance prior to delivery.

    Refrigerators     
  • A new GE genuine waterline connection kit must be added to the order - existing lines will    not be reused.
  •     
  • Existing appliance must be empty.
  •     
  • 110V grounded three-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord.
  •     
  • For icemaker or ice and water dispenser connections, a working shut off valve must be      located within 6 ft. of the refrigerator location or your installation will not be completed.
  •     
  • Dimensions must include an overall additional one inch for cooling.
    Washers     
  • A new set of GE genuine supply hoses must be added to the order at point of sale. Existing hoses will not be reused.
  •     
  • 110V grounded three-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord.
  •     
  • Water valves (hot and cold hookups) must be corrosion free and within six feet. of installation location. Test to ensure your valves can be shut off.
  •     
  • Pedestals can only be installed when delivered with W/D units.
  •     
  • Existing appliance must be empty with no standing water prior to delivery.
 
    Electric Ranges/Dryers     
  • A new GE genuine electric cord (ranges/dryers) and GE genuine dryer duct must be added to the order at point of sale. Existing connection parts will not be reused.
  •     
  • 240V electrical service is required to power units.
  •     
  • Delivery agents cannot direct-wire electric ranges or dryers. An appropriate outlet must be available at time of delivery and within four feet of the appliance. See approved outlets below.
    Gas Ranges/Dryers     
  • A new GE genuine gas flex connection kit (ranges/dryers) and GE genuine dryer duct (dryers) must be added to the order at point of sale. Existing connection parts will not be reused.
  •     
  • A natural gas supply line (no liquid propane hookups) with shut off valve must be located directly behind the appliance.
  •     
  • 110V grounded three-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord.
  •     
  • Some state and local codes prohibit delivery hookup. Enter your zip code to verify gas installations in your area.
 
    Dishwashers     
  • A new GE genuine waterline connection kit must be added to the order at point of sale.
  •     
  • Existing lines will not be reused.
  •     
  • A water supply line with shut off valve must be located under the sink or behind the dishwasher.
  •     
  • An electrical outlet must be within six feet of install location on the same side of the wall and on the same floor.
  •     
  • If proper shut off, accessible drain, or proper space is not available, your installation may not be complete. The rough cabinet opening must be a minimum 24 inches W x 24 inches D x 34 ½ inches H.
  •

    Over the Range Microwave     
  • Hardwiring will not be done.
  •     
  • 110V grounded three-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord.
 

Home Delivery Checklists

Please confirm that the correct color, gas or electric fuel, and model selection is correct, and if haul away is required. Additionally, please confirm the following:

  • Purchase new required GE genuine installation parts for deliveries (electric cords, gas flex lines, dryer duct, dishwasher connection kits, waterlines, etc.). Existing parts will not be reused.
  •     
  • Verify dimensions: Will the new unit fit in the intended area? Check for obstacles or space restrictions along the path to hook up location by “walking the delivery path.
  • Is all delivery information accurate and complete, including address, including delivery zip code, multiple contact phone numbers, requested delivery date, and any special instructions?
  •     
  • Verify fewer than two (2) flights of stairs to get to the install location.
  • Verify access restrictions, both internal and external.
  •     
  • Verify unloading zone is within 30 feet of the home.
  •     
  • Appliance hook up services vary by state or local area.
  •    
 

Delivery Specifications

 

  • Select a delivery date with maximum flexibility. You’ll be contacted the day prior to your requested date to inform you of your projected four-hour delivery window. If you’re unavailable during the given four-hour window, the agent will work to reschedule your delivery on the next available delivery date.
  •     
  • An adult at least 18 years old, authorized to make decisions, must be present for delivery.
  • Delivery agents are not carpenters, plumbers, or electricians. All electrical outlets, water and gas shut off valves, and cabinetry must be available and compliant at the time of delivery to complete any purchased installation options (see specific product line checklists below).
  •     
  • Be sure to inspect for any damage before signing for the delivery. Once the delivery is signed for, there are no returns or exchanges.
  • Delivery agents will test your appliance for proper operation and inspect for any visible damage. The agents will explain your options if damage is discovered or your unit is not working properly.
  •     
  • All appliances must be empty prior to removal.An anti-tip device will be installed on all ranges .

Curb side delivery (also called freight or "LTL" shipping) is reserved for large, heavy, or oversized items like chandeliers, bathtubs, shower doors, etc. Items are palletized and loaded onto a large truck for shipment, and delivered to your curb by scheduled appointment. Transit time is 7-10 business days.
