Great Batch feed Quieter than our previous garbage disposal. Magnetic cover is great so far. When you turn it over, it is a drain cover. Quite large - almost didn't fit. Check size of under sink area before ordering. July 5, 2008

If electric switch is on, and the black sink cover is out, can anyone get hurt if they put their hands inside to get something out of the sink?

The InSinkErator COVER CONTROL requires that the black cover be put on before it can be turned on for use however I would never recommend putting your hand into a disposal with the electrical on even with this safety feature. I recommend purchasing a strainer basket to insure that items not intended for your disposal don't pass into it.

Is this unit a direct power line, or does it plug into a 110 wall socket

This product plugs directly into a wall outlet.

I'd like to know what the difference is between the InSinkerator cover control and the Pro Cover control.

The only difference between the Cover Control and the Pro Cover Control is that the Cover Control only spins in one direction, while the Pro Cover Control spins in both directions. Each time you turn on the Pro Cover Control it spins in opposite direction than it did the last time it was on. The idea is that this helps keep it from getting jammed.

What is the diameter of this unit?

The InSinkErator COVER CONTROL fits a standard drain hole size of 3.5".

Do you turn the disposal on and off with the cover/lid onthe disposal.

Yes, this is controlled by the cover.

Somehow the manual that came with our insinkerator was thrown out. Can I order another one?

We don't carry the manuals, but if you contact InSinkErator directly, they will be able to send you out a new manual. You can also check on their website for the literature.
