Perfect appliance Love this disposal. Works like a charm. Grinds up anything and everything and it's quiet and fast. When the plumber installed my sink, faucet, disposal and dishwasher he said, "This disposal is top of the line quality." And as recommended by him, every few weeks I pour a bowl of ice cubes (about a quart's worth) down the grain and grind them up. It keeps it clean, sharp and odor free. November 5, 2011

I have a waste disposal from the 80's; model 77-32; how do I find one thats similar?

A. The best way to find a comparable disposal is if you know the horsepower, grinding chamber size, and exterior size for a matchup. The InSinkErator Essential is a 3/4" horsepower with a 40 oz grinding chamber. It one of the best residential disposals on the market place for performance, repair rate, and quietness.

Can I change the flange and stopper? I think I need an extended flange for my Rohl's fireclay sink. Also, can I use an air switch for this garbage disposal?

A. Rohl offers an extended disposer flange ISE10082 to pair with their fireclay and apron fronted sinks. You can install the STS00 air switch kit provided you drill an extra faucet hole in the countertop or have an available opening on the sink for the button.

I see the InSinkErator ESSENTIAL comes with on/off control wall switch. Can I use a through the counter top switch on this?

A. The InSinkErator ESSENTIAL does not come with a wall switch, but that is how it is typically operated. You can use the STS00 or STSS0 SinkTop Air Switch if you wish.

A. The InSinkErator ESSENTIAL does not require the collar adaptor with the Franke sink. The insinkerator will work on any sink with a standard 3.5" diameter drain.
