InSinkErator H-Wave-SS Reviews

Great and Reliable ProductGreat Product. I have owned two other insinkerator hot water dispensers (the lowest cost model) and this is definitely an upgrade. The product is very easy to install with good directions. The only problem was that the copper water supply line from the handle to the cold water line was too short. I did not think that it was a long distance away under the sink and was suprised during installation. However, a quick trip to the hardware store and I was up and running. It heats up fast and is relatively quiet. You have to get used to the "boiling noise" that occurs everyonce in a while. I really like the temp adjustment and have tweaked it to where I like it best. It is perfect for hot chocolate, instant soups, etc. I use it to start boiling water on the stove and it is a great timesaver.

Product has come a long wayA friend had a lesser costing model that really sold me on the idea of having INSTANT boiling hot water for my teabags and instant soups. Before I used to pour water into a tea kettle, wait for 15 minutes or so for the water to heat. As I got older, I found that sometimes I would just ?forget? to do any one of the steps necessary to make a good cup of Hot Chocolate, Tea or Soup. Often times would have to reheat the beverage in the microwave.
Now when I want something hot, it?s just a matter of pressing down the lever and wah-lah 205 degree hot water in an instant...I like mine a bit hotter than the default 200 degrees. If it is cold outside and I don?t want to be drinking my beverage lukewarm...I will fill the cup with ?instant hot water? cover it and let it sit for just a moment or so. Dump it and refill the cup right away and the contents will stay hotter longer.

Best convenience product everWe decided to get an instant hot water tap to help heat up bottles quicker for our second son. We just got a new refrigerator around Christmas, so we ended up replacing our filtered water tap with the instant hot water tap. Took my husband about 2 hours to remove the old tap and put in the new one. We did not get the water filter with the hot water tap. The first few cups of tea tasted "minerally", but after that the water was fine. I make tea in no time now. Mac 'n Cheese or any pasta cooking has sped up significantly. Highly recommend this tap. It's small enough not to take over sink space, but the tank capacity is more than sufficient for most uses. Great for thawing foods too.

it worksI found this instant hot water easy to install. It works fine. It is noisy, which is hard to belive, I know, what is there to make noise? Well, when it heats up it is audible. It took me awhile to figure out where the noise was comming from. It works, the price was good. My last unit quiet after three years, (different brand) it was very quite, and too exspensive to replace. I do enjoy having instant hot water when ever and for what ever, we use it all the time.

GreatEasy to install, worked right away.
One warning they don't mention: Watch out for installing the tank TOO CLOSE to the faucet (too high up on the wall under the counter). You won't be able to bend the copper wire to attach one of the water lines without crimping it.
Other than that snaffoo, no problems so far.

Not as hot as advertisedI am a coffee and tea drinker. We live at sea level in Hawaii, so this is not affected by location. We are on our THIRD tank in a year--the water just is NOT hot enough. it says the factory setting is 190F, but it's not. When one follows the directions and slowly increases the settings to maximum, the water will eventually reach 195F. The problem is the 2nd tank was measuring only 180F with the dial at max after 2-3 months. They advertise "up to 200F" temperatures. it is impossible to get that temperature. Coffee and tea need specific temperatures or they can taste weird. I am sad and if this one drops in temp again, I will call it quits and buy a countertop, plug-in unit instead--those are dependable. I just liked the idea of something under the counter that we didn't have to fill all the time. sigh...

Hot FaucetThis hot water dispenser proved easy to install and works like a charm. The hardest part of the install was getting a professional to drill the hole in my granite counter top. After that was done it went smoothly only I wish I had just temporarily removed the garbage disposal which would have been easier than working around it. After installation it heated right up and I made a hot cup of tea. This model looks great. We like the real chrome.

Better than ExpectedMy old house had a hot water dispenser that came with the house and it wasn't hot enough for coffee, just tea, so I was skeptical. But this thing is tremendous!
It is super easy to adjust to the right temperature. I started it at HIGH upon installation, but it was so hot, it was boiling and spitting, so make no mistake, this thing works! I've since played with the setting to get it just below the boiling point.
Now I'm so spoiled I'm thinking of breaking the bank and getting it for my vacation house too.
You won't believe how much you use it. Even if you want to make sure something is "sterilized", run it under this device and you're good.
Why didn't I get this sooner? And as always, you can't beat the price on faucet.com.
