Product Details for the Iron-A-Way A-46

Leading the IRON-A-WAY line is the Model A-46, with its rugged, premium length 46 inch ironing board and telescoping steel support legs. The easy, 4 inch height adjustment lets you choose the most comfortable work position. A solid state, silent timer turns on power to the built-in work light and the electrical outlet. You can leave your iron plugged in at all times, even when the door is closed. A built-in safety switch disconnects all power when the board is in the upright position. A hot iron storage compartment, accessory shelf, pilot light and garment hook are all standard, making the A-46 our most complete ironing center.

  • The interior has been painted a cool gray.
  • Telescoping steel support legs.

    Surface Mounting:
  • Unit may be surface mounted (unit extends approximately 6 7/8" into room) or recessed (unit extends approximately 3" into room) into any wall with standard 16 inch center studs.
  • See table in specification sheet (above) to determine desired ironing board height above the floor. The user can adjust height of board after installation with a 4" differential between a maximum and minimum height.

    Installation:
  • Simple Install! Identify the location, cut and remove the drywall, slip the unit between the studs and attach it with the installation screws provided.
  • All models are pre-assembled and ready to install.
  • Fits between standard 2 x 4 studs on 16" centers. Install at the height of your choice, typically 34"-36" from the floor.

    Electrical:
  • 120V, 15 Amps.
  • Pigtails are provided in bottom of wire way for hookup to supply line. Make entrance into knockouts provided in top and bottom of wire way through left-hand vent hole.

    More depth needed Should be deeper to house modern irons. Very limited selection of irons fit this space. Arrived damaged but builder did repairs. August 28, 2011
    VERY POOR CONSTRUCTION THIS PRODUCT ARRIVED EXTREMLEY WELL PACKAGED AND PUT IN SAFE LOCATION PENDING COMPLETION OF LAUNDRY ROOM. WHEN PACKAGE WAS OPENED 2 MONTHS LATER THE UNIT WAS FALLING APART. EXTREMLEY POOR CONSTRUCTION. NOT WORTH 1/2 THE PRICE. THIS WAS CERTAINLY NOT MADE IN THE U.S. AS IT WAS NOT WORTH THE TIME OR AGGRAVATION TO REBOX AND SHIP BACK, WE REBUILT UNIT ON-SITE AND INSTALLED. WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED UP A SIMILAR STYLED UNIT FROM LOCAL LOWES OR HOME DEPOT AND COULD HAVE RETURNED ITEM EASILY. NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED!!!!! April 25, 2011

    Is a standard door included in kit or is the door a separate purchase?

    The Iron-A-Way A-46 has a birch door included in its price. You can affix another door for additional cost if you desire. This can be done below the picture of the item on the product page.
