Is the finish "polished brass" lacquered or unlacquered, i.e. will it develop a patina over time or not?

The Ives 262B is unlacquered.

Will this item 262B replace & be the same size as the old one I need to replace? I think mine was installed in 1991.

The Ives 262B is just one of many size flush bolts. I would need the dimensions of the old unit or the model number so that I can properly compare the items.
