MODIFICATIONS Was able to contact customer svc. So, i knew i could make the necessary modifications that my customer demanded. I ground off the stops on the back of the bolts, so that the "throw" was lengthened, and my customer was happy with the results. I used these bolts in a vertical and horizontal application, on multiple french doors, per my customers request. This could not have ben done with cheaper grade bolts. January 1, 2011

Just what I wanted Much to my supprise this is the exact item that I have been attempting to get. The local hardware and chin store no longer carried the item. December 11, 2010

Is this hardware fire rated?

The Ives SB453-8 is UL listed for fires up to 3 hours for up to 10ft tall doors.

Is this the kind of lock that I would put on the botom of my door and into the floor for added security???

The Ives SB453-8 Top and Bottom Strike can be used at the bottom of the door and inserted into the floor for added security.
