Average at best The light from the Kichler is bright and attractive. However, there is a gap between the glass and the frame. Also, the glass does not slide in completely on one side due to laxed standards in manufacturing. September 17, 2010

a wise choice choosing this product for under the kitchen cabinets was a wise decision. going with lighting direct was even better. December 21, 2009

Is the 12214 a hard wired fixture?

The Kichler 12214 is a hard wired fixture.

It says 'daisy chain installation' adds two inches? What is this? If each unit is hardwired does the width remain as listed in the specs?

The Kichler 12214 daisy chain installation is just a type of installation when you wire them together in a line. If you hard-wire them then everything remains like the installation guide says.

Does this fixture require a transformer?

The Kichler 12214 is direct wired.

Is the 12214 dimmable? If so, can I use a standard light dimmer?

The Kichler 12214 is not dimmable.

Why is the 12213 3-light fixture dimmable and you say this one isn't?

The Kichler 12214 is dimmable with an electronic dimmer that is suitable for low voltage lighting. The 12213 is dimmable under the same conditions.
