The Kichler 15310 is recommended to work with low voltage transformers like the 15PL series. For 165 watts I would suggest the 15PL200, which is rated for 200 watts of power.

The Kichler 15310 bulb can be replaced by removing the shade. Once the shade is removed you will have access to the bulb. Instructions on how to remove the shade will be included with the fixture. Also, the bulb is included with this fixture.
The Kichler 15310 is only compatible with 12V Incandescent T-5 wedge base socket.
