Brushed Nickel is awesome!
We are in the process of finishing up our bathroom remodeling project. I needed a break/change from the chrome faucet and fixtures. I am thrilled with the way the Brushed Nickel ceiling light, and the two matching wall sconces look in our new bathroom! I was a bit skeptical about the "frosted globes", but come to find out the room is very well lit!

Classy Chandelier
I love this chandelier. Just the right size over my kitchen table. Blends in beautifully with my new kitchen with its stainless steel appliances. Also puchased the Dover island light which also looks great! Very classy collection.

Totally pleased
The light looks great and you get plenty of chain. I'd suggest getting a set of bolt cutters if you need to remove links - the chain is so strong that you can't open the links with a screwdriver and pliers.

BEAUTIFUL LITTLE CHANDELIER
We ordered this smaller chandelier for over our eat-in kitchen table and it is beautiful for a smaller area. It was packaged great with the small exception of one incomplete piece and I was frankly amazed at how accommodating customer service was to send a replacement. Installed with no problem and are very happy with it.

Does this include a backplate? If it does what is the diameter?
The Kichler 2019 does have a backplate that is 5" in diameter.
My present fixture has 3 60 watt bulbs under a frosted dome. How will the 2019 with its up facing lights compare if I want to read something at the kitchen table?
The Kichler 2019 uses 4 60W candelabra bulbs so it will produce more light than your current fixture.
What are the measurements of this chandelier's globes and width of chandelier?
Kichler 2019 measures 18"w x 14"h and the globes measure 6.25"w x 4"h
What color is the glass with the nickel finish?
The glass on the Kichler 2019 in brushed nickel is referred to as "Etched Seedy Glass". It is white in color; you can view it using the drop down menu by selecting the finish.
Will this fixture work with a dimmer switch?
The Kichler 2019 can be used with a dimmer switch.
Is the width listed (18") measured with the globes or without?
The Kichler 2019 width of 18" is the total width of the fixture with the globes.
The brushed nickel and the antique brass look a lot alike to me in the photo, but then I'm a guy. What is a clear difference between the two?
The Kichler 2019 in the Antique Brass is going to be more bronze while the Brushed Nickel will look closer to a silver.
It comes with extra long wire for swag, does that include extra chain too?
The Kichler 2019 is does come with the extra wire so you can swag the fixture, but the chandelier comes with 72" of chain. If you need more chain it is available for purchase.
This light in the same size as my old antique chandeleir that I want to change. Mine has ten candle tip 60 w bulbs on a dimmer switch. How do you think this one will compare in terms of light produced in the room? Also, how do does down light compare to up light, in terms of room light coverage?
The Kichler 2019 will be roughly 40% of the light that you current fixture has as if both fixtures are at full power. Up lighting and down lighting have the obvious difference of one facing light up to the ceiling and the other (down) send light down to the ground. The up lighting provides much more ambient light where the down light is more directional and focused. Up lighting actually requires more light to light the room.
Are there already or will there be candelabra base CFL bulbs available for this fixture in the future, once incandescent candelabra base bulbs are no longer available?

does it come with a ceiling plate ?
The Kichler 2019 does come with the ceiling canopy.
Is the bottom knob and on/off switch. We don't have a wall switch and need the switch on the lamp.
The Kichler 2019 does not have an on/off switch on it.
The antique brass looks silvery with a tinge of gold, which I like, but I don't want shiny brass. I'm more for the satin or brushed nickel finish, but I do like what I see in the photo for the antique brass.
The Kichler 2019 in Antique Brass will not be polished, it will the satin brass - silver that you see pictured. I hope this helps!
Will this work with 13 Watt CFL standard base bulbs?
The Kichler 2019 Dover Mini Chandelier will not work with standard base CFL bulbs. It requires candelabra base bulbs.
Is it possible to use different shades than the white etched seedy glass that comes with it?
You can use different shades if you want as long as they are the same fitter size, but the Kichler 2019 does just come with the seedy glass shades.
